Mountain Planet postponed to April 2022
Grenoble-Alpexpo (Isère-France), 11 March 2020
The organizers of MOUNTAIN PLANET, the world’s leading trade fair for the mountain planning and industry, have decided to cancel the 2020 edition, which was to be held in Grenoble-Alpexpo from 22 to 24 April 2020, to focus henceforth on the next edition, which will take place from 26 to 28 April 2022 in GrenobleAlpexpo (France).
Given the worsening of the Coronavirus outbreak and the nationwide ban on gatherings of more than 1,000 people, MOUNTAIN PLANET, which welcomes 23,000 trade visitors, more than 900 exhibitors and brands from nearly 70 countries every year, all in an exhibition area of 50,000 m2, cannot take place under the best conditions.
This decision was taken after consulting Alpexpo’s shareholders and the main stakeholders of the MOUNTAIN PLANET show, namely DSF, ANEM, the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region, the world’s leading mountain development companies and professional organizations such as AFMONT, the Mountain Cluster and the Grenoble and Savoie Chambers of Commerce.
The high seasonality of the activity of mountain development and industry companies unfortunately makes it impossible to postpone this year’s edition to another date in 2020. The MOUNTAIN PLANET has always been positioned in April as this strategic date corresponds to the end of the season for all European ski resorts. Moreover, the current situation in Italy and the daily changes in France and Europe do not allow sufficient visibility and guarantees to postpone until this summer an event as international as the MOUNTAIN PLANET, which welcomes more than 70 nationalities at each edition.
The next MOUNTAIN PLANET will therefore take place in Grenoble-Alpexpo from 26 to 28 April 2022. An international meeting place for mountain planning, a showcase for the most recent innovations and market trends, the MOUNTAIN PLANET trade show will be held at Alpexpo, the event park in Grenoble, AuvergneRhône-Alpes (France). A major event for mountain professionals, every two years it brings together the entire global mountain ecosystem.
